Chicago's longest winter/spring

For the record, this has been the most sucky winter and spring in Chicago since I moved here in  1993. March, April, and May were pretty much overcast, rainy and cold for the most part. Tommorrow is going to be our first 80 degree day of the season.  Thank you Jesus!

American Idol Season 10

Well, the show finished with the culmination of Scotty McCreery taking the title.  I can confidently predict that runner up Lauren Alaina will have a far more successful career, and recording contract.  Also 3rd runner up Haley will do very very well in her career.  Sometimes its good to be the "odd man out" in these sometimes superficial television competitions.  If you're not the winner, you have a sooner opportunity to be your own free agent.  Look at the successes of post Idol runner ups....Jennifer Hudson....Daughtry....  Speaks volumes.

American Idol Season 10

Wow...this season is full of such great talent.. by FAR MUCH BETTER than last years!  Sorry to see Pia Toscano leave the pack so early...who knows why America got her voted off so soon. Still, I see the complete potential in Haley to win this thing. She is right in the zone now to win it.

March 2011 was slow.

March was a very slow month for me.  April is picking up...thank God!

Live Band Karaoke last nite Feb 7th, 2011

Man..it was a blast last nite singing at Roscoes's Live Band Karaoke.  The band was so in alignment with me last night! We were groovin' to "Rock With You".  It was one of those nights where you and the band are completely "in sync"!  There were a lot of young peeps dancing and grooving in the aisles to the performance too, which makes it all the more satisfying.  I sing Brandy's version of "Rock With You" which she did on the Quincy Jones' "Jook Joint" album.  I love doing this version, because it has a cool R&B feel to the phrasing.  Lots of freedom in the syncopated phrasing of the lyrics.  Lots of "Oooo Chile's" and "Baby Baby's".  I really felt like the band felt the grooving rhythm of the song last night.  I absolutely had such a good time...many fun moments!!!

Live Band Karaoke @ Roscoes Tavern.

Hey ya'll....check out this new fun nite at Roscoes!!  You can sing with a Live Band.  Its easy...you see a detailed song list, pick your tune, sign up, and you're a Rock Star.  This is hosted by the always effervescent entertainer/singer Amy Armstrong.  I always sing Brandy's version of "Rock With You".  Its a blast.  Stop by sometime in 2011!

Happy New Year!!!!

I hope everyone has a very successful 2011.  Here's to new adventures, and prosperous times ahead!  It can only get better after 2009 and 2010! Best wishes, Rob
